There are so many reasons why I started this and couldn't stop, but one of them is that this simply and plainly is an agglomerate of everything I adore in my romantasy books. Not that there weren’t moments of sweet fluffs, light banter, sexual tension, and hot make-out sessions—all of which I devoured. Entangled in a deadly plot, she's forced to play the smitten princess while the unwilling pair work together to uncover the danger that surrounds them.

She is compassionate, caring, strong willed, determined, independent and has a very powerful willingness to survive in any situation. This enemies to lovers, slow burn, royal fantasy romance is full of chemistry, danger, intrigue, mystery, suspense, secrets, lies, magic and betrayal. It's intricate and original, elemental magic has always been my favorite type of magic but there is also more to it. this does have more of a YA vibe and isnt as steamy as what im used to with her books, but its still such a pleasurable read.Con este libro no me he sentido así, la autora tiene una forma de escribir que invita a seguir leyendo, los acontecimientos me han parecido muy interesantes, el reino, el mundo, el sistema… todo está genial.

I also didn’t love how slow of a burn this first book was… I don’t have anything against making us wait for something to happen in that department, but it didn’t feel like it was smoothly built up for me.reader review'An enchanting and incredibly well written book with outstanding world building and the kind of deeply rooted character development I love. In the first 80% of the book we didn’t get a ton of interactions between the two of them and instead we got all of the other stuff (which was important to understand what’s going on, but put me to sleep nonetheless)… but then in the last 20% everything started to pick up and we actually started getting somewhere with the romance and with the story in general… so that last little bit did end up saving the story for me and I’m excited to see if book two ends up getting more interesting now that we have a lot of the initial plot and world building out of the way. The plot is very interesting, though, I can’t say easy, there were a ton of informations about the politics, the differents entities / gods . Coming back after an unsuccessful mission her life is upended when a mysterious woman, Sofie, with her mysterious talk offers her a job. Romeria , Zander, but also some minor characters like Elisaf, have stolen my heart and I Cannot wait to see what’s going to happen next.
