Description

This book was first published in 1981 as Hidden Faces but, having read it, I think The Man With No Face a far better title. Now then, Kale our antagonist – he’s a gun for hire! He’s meticulous in his work and he’s built a damn good reputation on being the best….but will Brussels be his down fall as he leaves a witness to his crime?!

I've seen a man who could change his face, the way that other men change their clothes." ― Doreah [src] Over the years, it is implied that Walter learned the ways of Dark magic and became a very powerful sorcerer and to some extent becoming a sort of Demon with a "quasi-immortality". It may have been, at one point or another, that Walter was taught dark magic by Maerlyn, the very Wizard who is responsible for forging the Bends O' the Rainbow, the mystical seeing balls (one of which Roland finds in Wizard and Glass), because he is often seen possessing said seeing balls throughout different parts of the dark tower story, using them for his own wrong doings. It also appears he is a keen student as he wished the remains of a Slow Mutant to be bagged for later studies. As my good friend said in her review 2 years ago, the very last sentence was absolute perfection. It took everything in me not to read it before I finished the book. Andalos · Axe · Braavosian Coastlands · Flatlands · Forest of Qohor · Golden Fields · Hills of Norvos · Orange Shore Old time and politics. A match? YES! After several chapters setting the tone of the novel following the steps of investigative journalist Bannerman, blood gets spilled. Journalism and government blood. Not a good mix if you want my opinion! It’s bound to make a lot of noise. But poor Brannerman was only in the European capital to dig up dirt… Only to find himself at the centre of an intricate web of secrecy and conspiracies. Human, accurate, and dirty indeed, this investigation brings the best of our main character and fully explores a world of scoops, money and corruption.Donald DeFreeze (1943-1974) aka "Cinque Mtume" was the leader of the far left revolutionary organization known as the Symbionese Liberation Army or SLA and served as one of the sources of inspiration for the creation of Flagg. Defreeze referred to himself as "Field Marshall Cinque". His physical appearance is taken from Bombyx mori, a silkworm. Character designer Masashi Ando elaborated, "No-Face is basically expressionless, but I ended up adding just a tiny bit of expression. It might have been better to make his mask more Noh-like without any expression at all, conveying his expressions by lighting. No-Face swallows the bath house workers, and I thought it might have been interesting if he acquired their personalities and ability to reason. This way he might become more human and appealing."
