Description

The outsole of these men's Running shoes has been manufactured using a highly wear-resistant compound. When picking up the Ghost 13, and seeing the dimpled DNA Loft all along the lateral side, I thought to myself that the Ghost now looks more similar to the top of the range Glycerin than ever before. I’ve reviewed the Ghost 12 before and although I enjoyed the ride, the heel to toe transition wasn’t that smooth.

Ghost 12 Comfort amplified in Brooks Ghost 13 Durability is as bad as it gets Responsiveness is not its forte Smooth and stable ride Hefty weight Good grip on Ghost 13 Roomy fit and an even roomier toebox Ghost 13 couldn’t get more breathable than this! The 14 does weigh 255 grams, so it’s not a very light shoe, but I guess that’s not such a huge deal for a daily trainer, it’s not a racing shoe. That being said, it is a capable and versatile daily trainer that performs under a variety of circumstances.

Omega flex grooves provide a full, unrestricted range of motion in all directions and exceptional flexibility. His ghost appears as a torso with a severed head nearby, and is more a neutral spirit than actively hostile. You feel like your foot is being enveloped in pillows, but the ride is still sturdy, and the shoe has significant structure throughout the upper, the midsole and outsole to support longer distances.

The general (online) consensus about the Brooks Ghost 13 points at a true-to-size fit with little to no changes over the Ghost 12. Traditional cushioning takes a one-size-fits-all approach, but we know that each runner is different.

One may encounter the stray case of mesh tears and such, but that’ll be the exception and not the norm. They are apparently made with at least 30% recycled materials, it is always a good thing to lower the carbon footprint of a product, but I’m not not sure that it makes much of a difference if your product only lasts me about 150 kilometers.

I also had the Ghost 12 before this (regular edition) and never had any issues with that model, nor any other of the Brooks shoes that I’ve tried in the past, although the lining in those was different. Overpronation in the arch can affect the whole body and cause discomfort in the heel, ankles, achilles tendons, shins, outside knee, outer hip, as well as the arches. When I choose a daily trainer for my shoe rotation, it has to have a plush, comfortable upper, a midsole cushioned enough for distances up to 25 kilometres and an outsole capable of lasting over 800 kilometres. Again on top of the heel counter and also inside it a bit, but the fabric tears on top of the heel counter first.

The DNA loft is medium soft and not mushy at all – a balance that makes the ride supportive and neutral. Cush Pod Configuration is a cushioned midsole/outsole design that sets the foot up for an efficient, balanced heel-to-toe transition. A daily trainer is arguably the most important shoe in a runner’s shoe rotation because the bulk of their running is done in them.Brooks DNA Loft is their softest feeling cushioning and the Ghost 13 has a more traditional 12mm drop from heel to forefoot. The Launch 8 is noticeably softer than the 7, but its lighter and lower-profile build makes it a good companion shoe. Also, because the Ghost 12 primarily had cushioning in the heel, it made it a great shoe for heel strikers.
