I was also surprisingly spooked each night when I turned the light off in an attempt to go to sleep. I really want to know the story of how the dolls got haunted in the first place (or at least how people thought they were) since the book doesn't provide this information. Whilst she tries to find the cause of Jay’s death, a series of events will happen that will change her life forever.

It starts with Sophie and her friend Jay mucking around with a Ouija board app which certainly has consequences. But some of the dialogue was a bit weird, it seemed overly proper and stilted, and every character talked exactly the same. I love books that really get to you to the point where you actually end up looking over your shoulder and losing sleep over them.

Since the death of their sibling Rebecca, years before, the family has forever been fractured, and Sophie had no idea how deep the fissures run. I hate dolls still and now let’s add these to the creepy bit with those missing head, limbs and such.

creepy and scary as fuck little 'Charlotte' dolls, Ouija boards, eye removing, ghosts, hauntings, and an EVIL sibling that will make you have nightmares. The setting – that isolated house, miles from anywhere, with seemingly relentless winds and bad weather – immensely added to the story, and the remote, uncertain feeling of it. Frozen Charlotte follows Sophie and her cousins Cameron, Lilias and Piper as Sophie spends summer with them. The premise of this book genuinely terrified me; especially since I was reading at night and it was so satisfying. And when it seems that the dolls are triggering a series of accidents at the school, Jemima realizes she must stop the demonic spirits possessing the dolls – whatever it takes.I have to start by saying this because this book is all about creepy little dolls and it really freaked me out. It really couldn’t have been easy for her, especially because of the way she felt partly responsible for what happened.

Our main protagonist, Sophie, has to go stay with relatives when her friend unexpectedly dies after a rather bizarre encounter using an Ouija board app on their phone. These dolls are no bigger than a matchbox, but have hauntingly painted faces and were supposedly invloved in the death of one of the girls at the school. I could almost imagine this book being played out as a movie, one with a lot of silence and creep-up-on-you scenes. An isolated location shrouded in mist, a storm battered coastline, vengeful ghosts, a haunted school, weird children and creepy dolls, what more do you need!Thoroughly satisfying horror (and part of a new series) involving creepy dolls and set in motion by an ouija board session. In fact, all of the characters have personalities that change when it's convenient to the plot for them to do so. An added bonus, for those of you that didn’t know, this is not only horror but a mystery novel as well! One time i got scared of my own reflection in the mirror… I made my twin sleep in my room for a few nights! She believes that Lilias is right to be afraid, as the attacks seem to originate with the tiny dolls, which appear to have moved whenever she looks at them.
