A Life on Our Planet contains my witness statement, and my vision for the future – the story of how we came to make this, our greatest mistake, and how, if we act now, we can yet put it right. He’s best known for writing and presenting natural history documentaries for BBC, often showing impressive animal feats on camera for the first time. Because the simple truth is, without halting and reversing the damage we have done, we (humans) simply will not be able to survive on this planet. In the first part of the book he takes us on a journey to revisit some important moments of his life, starting in 1937 when as a young boy he developed a fascination with fossils.

Some of the scientific solutions he proposes need further development, but a lot of the technology already exists. The next two sections talk about what lies ahead of us if we continue living as we do in the present and his vision for the future with proper and sustainable efforts to rewild the world.David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet is a 2020 film by the documentarian and natural historian David Attenborough. The author also acknowledges the powerful (mostly economic) influences that allow scepticism on climate change, and lack of action to combat it, to persist. The first part of the book covers the time the author spent at the BBC, and the creation of some of his wonderful nature series.

As a young man, I felt I was out there in the wild, experiencing the untouched natural world - but it was an illusion. But that being said it wasn't that most easier of reads as it deals with a very important and scary subject. To sum it up, it is a fascinating, emotive, rewarding, shocking, thought provoking and informative read, that is far more terrifying a read than any horror story I have read. It hurt this book, I don't have much hope cause apart from those very close to me, most people around me couldn't give a flying F about what's happening with the subject of our planet and sustainability.

It tells us how the world has been changing since David was born and how it could look like in the future if we keep doing what we are doing today. The things that are expected to happen until the year 2100, another blink of an eye, if we don’t change our ways.
