In a sense, it is both central to the story, and totally irrelevant that Arthur and Teddy are gay, because this is a story about love, life and being true to yourself that is pertinent to every reader, regardless of their sexuality or age.Everything is right there on the page, no subtlety behind anything, and when characters talk it often feels like the author is standing just above them maneuvering their strings. The reason I said your mileage may vary on this one is that some people, like Teddy and Arthur for example, might be a lot more forgiving of her behaviour than me. Before I start my review I just want to say how happy I am about the Note to Readers at the start of the book that highlights all the accessibility features that this ebook has if needed, I really appreciate things like this as my daughter has dyslexia and she needs a green background to be able to read anything, thank you. They really helped each other grow as characters and into their own identities as the book went along.
