Description

Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought • Contemptor-Galatus Dreadnought • Contemptor-Achillus Dreadnought • Telemon Heavy Dreadnought Martial Ka’tah: An ability that Adeptus Custodes models have, and can use if every model in your army has the ADEPTUS CUSTODES keyword (excluding models with the ANATHEMA PSYKANA, AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM or UNALIGNED keywords), and every unit that is assigned to a shield host is assigned to the same shield host. Shield Hosts will be familiar to fans of Adeptus Custodes, but they’ve had upgrades befitting these golden demigods of destruction for the latest edition. There are six in total, including favourites like the Solar Watch, and each has access to unique fighting styles, warlord traits, stratagems, and relics of Terra.

The Dread Host is a great example of how all this works. They specialise in the Dacatarai Ka’tah, making them monsters against hordes. If you invoke the Dacatarai Ka’tah as the Dread Host, you can activate either stance at the start of your turn but make use of both. If you then choose to stay in Dacatarai next turn, you may still activate stance two, even though you’ve already had the benefit. Vigilators on the other hand had their Executioner Greatblade changed to flat 2 damage (was d3) and once again lost Psyk-out grenades. Now onto the Shadow Throne box set, which contains a total of 25 minis with 2 new characters for each 40k faction. Let’s start with the Genestealer Cults value then go to the Adeptus Custodes. Overall, Vigilators look to have only lost rules. However, like the Prosecutors, joining the Adeptus Custodes Codex might mean their extra rules in the new full book is enough to counteract the loss. Obviously, the Aquilas and Eagles Eye have changed some, but perhaps the Praetorian Plate makes up for that.

Once a Custodian ascends to the vaunted rank of Blade Champion, he will spend his years perfecting the Martial Ka'tahs of the Custodes -- their ancient systems of melee martial arts -- in the Colosseia Auris within the Imperial Palace. This device brings light to the most impenetrable of darknesses, its magnificent gleam so bright that it can strike down foes. EMISSARIES IMPERATUS model only. Behemor - This ka'tah's clinical strikes prevent even the toughest hide or armored hull from withstanding the Blade Champions' blows. In each of your Command phases, so long as one is available, you must select one ka’tah stance to become active for your army. Each time you do so, units from your army with this ability benefit from it until the start of your next Command phase. When selecting a ka’tah stance to become active, the following rules apply:
